Slate Roof Repairs & Partial Replacement
A roof missing forty slates does not need replacing. It needs forty slates that look like they have been there since 1912.
When repair is the right call
If the slate itself is sound—it rings rather than thuds, it is not delaminating, and the roof is not shedding pieces every winter—then the failure is almost always in the flashing or the fasteners, not the stone. Slate outlives the nails that hold it, and a roof can be re-hung.
Matching a weathered field
This is the hardest thing we do. An eighty-year-old field has drifted a long way from its quarry colour, and a perfect fresh match will read as a bright patch from the street. We select for the weathered appearance, not the original colour name.
Small orders welcome
We sell repair quantities—a box, a partial pallet, a hundred pieces. Tell us the real count. There is no advantage to us in overselling you slate you will stack behind the garage.
